Declaration of National Conference of Human Rights Defenders 2026

On June 21-22 the National Conference on Human Rights Defenders was organised, under the theme “Strengthening Protection, Solidarity and Justice: From Grassroots to Policy,” in collaboration of 14 different organizations. Besides, a Declaration Committee was set where Digital Rights Nepal was one of the member. The Committee drafted the Declaration on behalf of all the participants of the Conference, highlighting key concerns and recommendations for strengthening the protection, recognition, safety, civic space, and rights of Human Rights Defenders, and calls on relevant stakeholders to take meaningful action.

On August 20, DRN, along with other collaborative organisations submitted the Declaration to Hon. Top Bahadur Magar, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission.
