Capacity Building for Lawyers: Strengthening Digital Rights and Safety Awareness

On October 16, Digital Rights Nepal successfully conducted a Capacity-Building Workshop for Lawyers focused on enhancing understanding of digital rights, online safety, and personal digital hygiene in the digital age. The session brought together legal practitioners and law students to explore the key concepts such as privacy, cybersecurity, data protection, and online safety.

DRN’s ED Santosh Sigdel led the session on Digital Rights, and cybersecurity expert Mr. #Saroj Lamichhane led the session as the facilitator for Digital Safety, and the workshop also had interactive Threat Modeling exercises for personal digital hygiene.

Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, participants reflected on real-life digital threat scenarios, learned strategies for secure digital practices, and discussed the vital role of lawyers in upholding rights and justice in the digital sphere. This initiative aims to empower civic leaders to navigate the evolving digital landscape with confidence, responsibility, and rights-based awareness.
