On 7 February 2025, a Panel Discussion on “Women in Tech Policy & Governance – Shaping Nepal’s Digital Future” was held alongside the launch of the Women in Data (WID) Platform. The event brought together policy leaders, tech experts, and academics to explore topics such as women’s leadership in digital policymaking, barriers and opportunities in tech governance, the role of data governance in digital empowerment, and the importance of mentorship and inclusion in ICT. Prof. Timila Yami Thapa delivered a keynote speech, emphasizing the significance of women’s leadership in tech and digital policy. We extend our gratitude to panelists Salina Dangol, Nhasala Joshi, and Dolma Sherpa for their valuable insights into fostering an inclusive digital future. The WID Platform aims to enhance the visibility of women in tech and data, offering networking opportunities and connecting them with valuable career avenues.
